Cristina Panaccione, LPC

Founder & Director

Cristina Panaccione is the founder and director of CPA Counseling, a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than two decades of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. She brings an eclectic, down-to-earth treatment style designed to create a warm, safe environment where real healing and growth can happen.

Cristina’s clinical background is rooted in marital counseling, anxiety management, and crisis intervention, with deep expertise in Family Systems Theory and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). She is Gottman Level 2 trained and is particularly effective with couples in long-term marriages who are working to reconnect. She also has extensive experience in service coordination, outpatient therapy, and school-based therapy settings.

Every therapist at CPA Counseling is personally selected by Cristina for their clinical skill, warmth, ethical standards, and commitment to real outcomes. Her leadership shapes the practice’s culture — direct, compassionate, and results-oriented.

Cristina sees clients at the Robinson Township and Altoona offices and via telehealth statewide. She is currently accepting a limited number of new clients.

Gretchen Echegoyen

MSW, LCSW

Gretchen Echegoyen is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at CPA Counseling’s Philadelphia office in Center City. She is bilingual in English and Spanish and specializes in life transitions — helping children, teens, young adults, and adults move through major change with confidence, shed unhealthy coping patterns, and build a life that feels purposeful and authentic.

Gretchen earned her Master of Social Work from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, DC. Her clinical background spans juvenile detention, in-home therapy, and outpatient settings, giving her a broad foundation and a genuine ability to meet clients wherever they are. She works extensively with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma, with a particular focus on the existential questions that surface during periods of transition.

Her approach centers on empowering clients to face their reality with courage and openness rather than avoidance — using CBT, strengths-based frameworks, and practical coping tools. Gretchen believes that becoming your authentic self is both the challenge and the goal of therapy.

Gretchen sees clients in-person in Philadelphia and via telehealth across Pennsylvania. She is currently accepting new clients.

COUPLES AND RELATIONSHIPS

The people who understand relationships

Allision Bare LSW

Allison Bare

Licensed Social Worker

Allison is trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy and is passionate about helping partners strengthen communication, deepen connection, and navigate conflict with greater understanding and respect. She also works with individuals ages 10 and older, supporting them through ADHD, autism, anxiety, addiction, grief, and major life transitions.

A Licensed Social Worker with experience in school settings, primary care, and outpatient counseling, Allison brings a holistic understanding of how mental health affects daily life. She is a trauma-informed therapist who prioritizes safety, collaboration, and respect. Her approach is humanistic and strengths-based, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic techniques.

Known for her warm, straightforward style, Allison offers both empathy and practical guidance. She creates a comfortable and validating space where individuals and couples can build resilience, gain clarity, and make meaningful, lasting change.

Nicole Jacobs

Licensed Professional Counselor

icole Jacobs is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adults navigating life transitions, emotional stress, and the impact of controlling or manipulative relationships. She brings a counseling style grounded in compassion, empathy, empowerment, and reframing — helping clients develop practical coping skills and regain a sense of control when life doesn’t go as planned.

Nicole specializes in working with women experiencing emotionally abusive or toxic relationship dynamics, including gaslighting, isolation, and patterns of control. She also supports clients managing depression, mood regulation, anxiety, stress, change and loss, and substance use concerns.

Her clinical approach draws on Solution-Focused Brief Counseling, Reality Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Rather than a one-size-fits-all model, Nicole collaborates with each client to identify what’s driving the struggle and build appropriate, actionable solutions. Her goal is to help clients handle life’s unexpected challenges with confidence — decreasing the emotional unraveling that can occur and replacing it with clarity, strength, and forward momentum.

Nicole sees clients at the South Hills office and is accepting new clients.
